I actually had a good word day today, even for being on vacation. But the story’s really coming together in my head. Currently up to around 26,000 words, so I’m closing in on halfway through the draft. Hopefully my sense of direction keeps up.
Currently I’m trying to come up with a good opening line for the blurb. It’s going to be hard to top, “I married my stepbrother.” A lot of it takes place in a legal firm though, so maybe I can work in a pun about her checking out his briefs. 😉

Time stands still. I freeze against him, my hands flat on his chest, but not pushing. Not really. Not enough to stop him while he kisses me roughly.
I respond. I can’t help it. In the cold rain, his body presses against me hotly. My anger isn’t forgotten, but there’s something more primal, more urgent, that has taken its place for now. Something I haven’t felt in… well, in four months. Our tongues dance, chasing each other around while we embrace, my hands sliding up to grip his hair and pull him against me.
His hand slides up my side until he finds my breast. He cups me, his thumb flicking across my nipple, making me gasp into his mouth.
Then I come to my senses. It’s with a lot of effort that I push him away, but he lets me go, watching me with an arched eyebrow and a cocky smirk. I take a step back, not trusting me to stay close. “We can’t do this, Declan. Our parents are getting married in a couple of weeks. We work together at your dad’s office. Jesus, you make my life a living hell at work. I don’t even think I like you.”
